Grief is one of the most common human experiences.  Yet we seldom allow ourselves the chance to fully experience the grief that comes from loss and its impact. Grief is rarely openly acknowledged, socially accepted or publicly displayed. Sometimes, people experiencing grief are cut off from social supports, and have few opportunities to express and resolve their grief. They can feel alienated from their community and hold on to their grief longer than they might if their grief was recognized.

Loss and unresolved grief can negatively effect every aspect of our lives.  When loss is addressed the healing process begins.

The idea of seeking help can be a difficult choice.  You may be uncertain what to expect from therapy or unsure how people closest to you will react to your decision to seek help.  It is my hope that you seek out the assistance you need, and deserve, to begin the healing process.  With healing you will find unlimited possibility for growth, renewal and discovery.


Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, together with over 45 years of successful clinical application. The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional early develop

mental attachment trauma.  SE offers a framework to assess where a person is “stuck” in the fight, flight or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. It provides effective skills appropriate to a variety of healing professions including mental health, medicine, physical and occupational therapies, bodywork, addiction treatment, first response, education, and others.The SE approach facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root cause of trauma symptoms. This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions.

LifeForce Yoga® was founded by Amy Weintraub, MFS, e-RYT 500, author of
Yoga for Depression.

It is an application of yoga specifically designed to treat and manage mood symptoms such as anxiety and depression,
in a gentle, compassionate manner.

LifeForce Yoga® utilizes breathing practices, meditation techniques, vibrational tones, and simple postures to release the places in the mind and body where tension, grief, and trauma are stored.
